HELL NO WE WONT GO

Brockton United Voices has stepped up their new campaign this week following the announcement by Ayanna YanceyCato, Robert Ford and Marianne Silva that they have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office allegeging that the closed door meeting by the Brockton Water Commission was illegal. After reviewing the tape that was in the poorest quality released by the Brockton Water Commission, you can hear Ossie Jordan, Jody Hickey, Margart MacGrath and Bruce Malcolm bickering back and forth with one member who has been outspoken about the water disaster. The only one trying to explain to the public what is going on with these $100k bills and trying to help alleviate the stress that it has caused some residents and now the commission is trying to silence him. On the tape you can hear members verbally attacking a person who was appointed to oversee and report back to the Mayor discrepancies in the water department and now being scolded for doing so.
The water commission seemed to care more about public perception and trying to perform negative media control. Telling this one member to be silent and not add fuel to the fire when this whole man made disaster blew up. Unlike what Mr.Thoreson said "The perfect storm of Catastrophe", this was man made. Also on the poor quality tape that a 1st grader could of done a better quality can be heard how the commission is being overwhelmed by the negative media that they have created by not addressing the public's concern and how to silence the media. Toward the end of the tape water commission member Ossie Jordan can be heard saying "I would never want what we were doing here in the newspaper for any reason."
The City Clerk has 14 days to respond to the complaint and also the Attorney Generals Office is going to be asked to come to Brockton and educate the Water Commission on Open Door Meeting Policy. Seems like it is much needed in Brockton at this point when so-called appointed officials don't even know their own laws pertaining to closed doors. One question to Ossie Jordan, Why would you never want what we where doing here in the newspaper for any reason?
Brockton United Voices will be passing along flyer's to the public and all who are still having water billing issues are encouraged to contact them at brocktonunitedvoices@gmail.com and check their site out at brocktonunitedvoices@blogspot.com
