STEWARD HEALTH CARE LAUNCHES NEW AD CAMPAIGN

Steward's Health Care recent aquisition of the Caritas Health Care system which includes Brocktons Good Samaritan Medical Center kicked off their start with a new ad campaign last month. The recent acquistion now allows Brockton to collect property taxes from the hospital since it is a for profit hospital unlike under Caritas which was non-profit. Steward Health Care is headquarted in Boston and has more than 13,000 employees and serves over one million patients annually in 85 communities.

Hospitals that were recently acquried from the sale include Saint Anne's in Fall River, Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, Norwood Hospital, Carney Hospital in Dorchester and Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton or how Brocktonians still like to call it the Cushing Campus when it was The Cardinal Cushing General Hospital.

The hospital opened in 1968 and in 1993 combined with the then Goddard Memorial Hospital in Stoughton to become Good Samaritan Medical Center and was bought by Caritas in 1999. Further information is available at steward.com.
