Mass. First Lady Diane Patrick to Keynote FCR’s Annual Event on March 31st for Victims of Domestic Violence

Brockton – Family & Community Resources today announced that Massachusetts First Lady Diane Patrick will be the keynote speaker at their Hope and All That Jazz Annual Gala scheduled for March 31st at the Shaw’s Center in Brockton. This annual event benefits children and families impacted by domestic violence.

“As First Lady, Mrs. Patrick has contributed her time, energy and passion to ensure that the voices of survivors of sexual and domestic violence are amplified across the Commonwealth and we are honored and delighted to have her joining us for this special occasion” says Patricia Kelleher, FCR President & CEO.

The evening will also include remarks from Nadine Walker Mooney, a 2009 Rose Fund Grant recipient, who will share her story of “triumph over tragedy” as she approaches her 5th anniversary as a survivor of an extreme domestic violence incident that left her blind at the hands of an ex-boyfriend.

The festivities will conclude with the presentation of the always inspiring Hope and All That Jazz Awards. This year, once again some exceptional community members will be honored for their FCR support, community volunteerism and dedication. They are Ellen Borden and Dave Gorman, both from Brockton; and Richard Rosen of Whitman. Their tireless efforts and commitment have had a tremendous, positive impact on the individuals and families FCR serves.
